Summer Reading Program 2018

Libraries Rock is the 2018 SRP theme.

What rocks you?

The summer reading program is a great incentive to take advantage of in order to help children of all ages to prevent the struggle caused by the summer slide when they return to school in the fall.  It doesn’t have to be a boring task, come to the library and let them take out books they will enjoy, it will allow them to continue to practice their reading skill so they will be ready in the fall.  Information pertaining to the Summer reading program will be posted here.

At the end of the summer in August we will provide prizes to everyone who has completed a reading record front and back with their lists of books read through the summer.  All ages are welcome to take part, even adults!

Math is a subject which is struck by the summer slide.  We have purchased three new books and added them to the collection at the library, titled Bedtime Math.  Bedtime math is a program added to the summer reading program to help reduce or eliminate the effects of the summer slide.  Follow the link below to learn more about bedtime math, and to sign up for e-mails of fun math problems you can work on with your children through the summer.  Come check out the new books too.
